Charlie Shreck wins man of the match award

Charlie Shreck's figures of 6-2-19-5 in Cornwall's Cheltenham and Gloucester tie against Worcestershire deservedly won him the man of the match award. His victims were Vickram Solanki, Anurag Singh, David Leatherdale, Andy Bichel and Gareth Batty. He also caught Graeme Hick off the bowling of James Hands. The match started at 3.00pm, due to rain, and was consequently reduced to 30 overs per side. Cornwall did well to restrict Worcestershire to 125, but were themselves bowled out for 76. [card]

Worcestershire C & G tie moved to Truro

No play was possible in the Cornwall v Worcestershire C & G tie at St. Austell on Wednesday 29th May due to a saturated ground and, with very little improvement expected overnight, the match has been moved to Truro at short notice. Umpires Roy Palmer and Trevor Jesty visited the Truro ground on Wednesday afternoon and found an acceptable wicket on which the match could be played. Play will start at 10.45am on Thursday.

Truro 2nds defeat Hayle in Vinter Cup off last ball!

Truro 2nds, (105-6), defeated Hayle, (105-7), in the Vinter Cup by virtue of losing 1 less wicket. Hayle lost their 7th wicket when attemting a second run off the last ball, which would have won the match. Had they not gone for a second there would have been a replay at Truro. [Scorecard and Report]

All 4 league matches abandoned

Very heavy rain led to all four league matches on Saturday 25th May being

abandoned at the following stages:-

Truro 1st v Menheniot  [Menheniot 90-7]

Wendron v Truro 2nd  [Wendron 36-3]

Mount Hawke v Truro 3rd  [Mount Hawke 76-8]

Mylor to play Truro 2nds in Vinter Cup

Mylor easily defeated Truro 3rds on Tuesday 14th May and will now play Truro 2nds, at Mylor, on Tuesday 21st May.

Tom Sharp hits 151 not out

The home Premier League match with Falmouth on Sunday 12th May was abandoned due to rain, with 8 overs remaining. However, the match will long be remembered for Tom Sharp's magnificent 151 not out. The skipper's highest league score.

Stopcock stops match!

The 3rd team match at Mawnan on Saturday 11th May had to be postponed as a stopcock at the edge of the square was left on and part of the wicket was saturated. A new date will be fixed soon.

Truro 3rds win off last ball

The match between Truro 3rds and Troon 2nds on Saturday 4th May produced one of the most exciting finishes seen for some time. Troon scored 169 for 7 off their 48 overs thanks to fine knocks of 63 from S. Kitchen and 35 from S. White.

In reply Truro were always up with the required rate thanks to 74 from Nigel Long, but wickets were also falling. Truro tied the match in the 47th over and therefore needed one run off the last over , with the last pair at the wicket (15 year olds John McConnell and Luke Withecombe). Ian Williams bowled a very tight over, but the youngsters kept their cool and ran a leg bye off the last ball to win the match! SCORECARD
