Truro is the Capital of the
Duchy of Cornwall. It is a charming City and is well known for
its cobbled streets, grand Georgian buildings and the
magnificent cathedral nestling at its heart. Wednesday
28th August 2002 marked Truro's 125th Anniversary as a city.
The Cricket Club is situated at Boscawen Park
beside the Truro River and must be one of the most picturesque
grounds in Cornwall. It is always in superb condition thanks to
our hard working and dedicated grounds committee. Whether
playing or watching cricket Truro is the place to be.
2006 SEASON
Our 4 senior
teams will be competing in the following leagues (sponsored by Jolly's
Drinks) for the 2006
season:-
Jolly's Drinks
Cornwall Cricket League - Division 6 (West)
The
Club also runs a ladies team, [formed in 2001], and youth teams
at under 11, under 13 and under 15. A team also competes in the
winter indoor league.
UMPIRES AND
SCORERS
In common with many Cricket Clubs we urgently
need more umpires and scorers. If anyone is interested in joining Truro's pool of umpires or
scorers please contact us. There is no pay, only plenty of enjoyment and a
free tea!
SOCIAL SCENE
We
are, however, much more than just a cricket club. The social
side of the club is very friendly, welcoming and active. During
the winter months we have two pool teams and a euchre team which
play in local leagues. The members also arrange quizzes, discos
and special christmas events. If you would like to become a
member and join in the fun please see the
Social Scene pages.
PAST TIMES
The
Club is keen to hear from former players, supporters or their
families who may have moved away from Cornwall. If you have any
memories of the club, a particular match, or if you have any
photographs you would like to include on the web site please
contact us.
